Senior Engineer - Flood Warning Systems


About the Role:
Your responsibilities will including the ongoing management and development of Council’s Flood Warning System, including data gathering, flood forecasting and derived information used in disaster management planning and response. 

Responsible for the coordination and functioning of the Flood Information Centre, including provision of specialist input, support and training of staff, to establish and operate the Flood Information Centre during activation associated with forecast flooding and/or wet weather.

About the Role:

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Coordinating the delivery of flood studies, floodplain risk management studies and plans and any other stormwater works
• Technical design of floodplain risk management works using tools such as TuFlow, Drains, Music, XP-Rafts and HECRAS
• Managing consutants and ensuring projects meet deadlines and adhere to budgets
• Providing stormwater and flood advice
• Preparing plain English reports
